HOW GREAT THOU ART

Psalm 147:5

Great is our Lord and mighty in power
His understanding is infinite

Many people know about God. Many more know Him. But only a few know how great God is. And that is what makes all the difference. He is the Great, the Mighty God, whose name is the LORD of hosts, who made the heavens and the earth by His great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for Him. He is mighty in power and great in battle. God is unfathomable.

It’s possible to have a dream, which you believe God gave you, and not step on it, or to face some challenges and think it is impossible to get over, simply because you don’t know your God is great.

You can know God and not know how great God is. And when that happens, you might pray and not get an answer. You might be free and not be filled with the Spirit. You might be saved and still remain in bondage – bondage to sin, bondage to fear, bondage to doubt or guilt, bondage to the past, or to mediocrity. All because you do not know your God is a great God.

I told you before. There is an enemy more evil than the Devil. That enemy is called ignorance. No one will know that God is great, and believe it, and not walk in the light of His greatness. But if you do not know that your God is great, even a lazy demon would harass you. But those who know their God, they do amazingly great. Hosea 4:6.

God is so great, when you think you have seen it all, then, He is more. He will always beat your imagination. He is timeless and ageless. I am saying in size, in strength, in extent, He has no limit or measurement. He is bigger than the biggest. He is mightier than the mightiest. He is more powerful than the most powerful. He is so great He does wonders so great.

You would think God is great only at doing big and mighty things. But my God is equally great at doing small and little things as well. He sends His salvation to save our soul. He sends His Word to heal us. He sends His protection and refuge that no evil can touch us. So many times He does awesome things, but because they look so casual and normal, we don’t realize it is a sign of His greatness. And we take things for granted. John 3:16; Psalm 107:20.

Is it just a coincidence that you met your wife and you all fell in love? No. It’s not just a work of nature that you all make babies. It’s not just a lucky break that you got that dream job, or that scholarship. It’s not just a good fortune that your children are healthy and good at learning. That’s God’s greatness at work. When you meet the right people, or you are connected to those who lift you up, that’s not just an accident. It’s the greatness of God that gives you divine connection.

The fact that you are free, and you are beautiful, and intelligent, and peaceful, and victorious, are all because your God is great. These might all look little and natural, but no one can make it happen but God. If God has not been great, you might not have air to breathe.

So many times God is showing how great He is, but we miss it. We are waiting for the big bang. We are waiting for the Wall of Jericho to fall down, or the Red Sea to part. We are waiting for River Jordan to dry up. But wiping off the tears of your eyes is just as great. You might be waiting for the sound of thunder before you know God is great. But I know God is great when I feel a single drop of rain on my forehead. Whether in a small way, or in a big way, my God is amazing.

He is so great He is unquestionable. He has mercy on whom He pleases, and shows compassion to whom He wants. When He wants to bless you, no one can stop Him. When the Lord favors you, no one can tell Him it is unfair. Mary was not the only virgin in town. But she was the one God picked out of many to manifest His greatness and lift up as blessed among women. Romans 9:15; Luke 1:26-30.

God is so great He is faithful. He was great in Egypt. He was great in Babylon. And He is still great. You can look back and remember when God has shown Himself great in your life. And now you expect Him to show Himself again. You bet He will. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8.

He is so great you can shout it out. Tell your wife, tell your friends, tell your family, tell your neighbors, tell your co-workers. God is great. Keep bragging about how great He is. You can’t go wrong. Tell them the time He made a way when it looked like there was no way. Tell them the time He healed your body, and how He raised you back up when your soul was taken over by sadness and sorrow. He is so great He will do it again. Tell them.

To some people, what is great is sickness, or the mountain before them, or the obstacle, or calamity. To some, what is great is the devil. They see the enemy, but don’t see their great God. They give glory to the enemy, not knowing the enemy has been delivered into their hands.

It’s so bad in the Church today that if someone is not going to be shamed, you don’t see yourself blessed. That’s because you don’t know how great your God is. If you know, you will know God can bless you so much that all those connected to you, by love or by hate, would be blessed through you. Yet you will not reduce, but increase abundantly.

If you will open the eyes of your faith and recognize that God is great, you won’t have to fight no devil. God will put Him in its place, under your feet. You won’t have to worry about no weapon cast against you. They will not only have no effect, they would be used to bless you. You won’t have to run after good things. They would come after you. Romans 16:20; Matthew 6:31-34.

Do not get me wrong. I am not saying your enemy is little. I am not saying your troubles are not many. I am not saying your challenge is not big. I didn’t say your mountain is not high. I am simply saying your God is greater than the greatest of men, or things, or devil, or demons, or circumstances.

On your own, you can only go so high, in your studies, or business, or career. But when God kicks in on your behalf His greatness will change the whole game. Doors will open, which you cannot open on your own. You will be noticed by those who would rather pay you no mind. Opportunities will come knocking at your door. You will go to places you never dreamed of. It’s not going to be by your ability or hard work, though you need that. It is God’s greatness that is making way for you.

It is God manifesting in His greatness when you are getting houses you didn’t build; and food stuff you didn’t grow; and gifts you don’t deserve. It is His greatness when you are getting blessings that make no sense, some things you don’t even know where they come from. You don’t expect it. You don’t deserve it. You only got it because you got a great God. Deuteronomy 6:11; Psalm 44:3.

Sometimes you might feel too little for something big. You think you cannot get a good break, or you never can overcome that challenge. Or you just think your dream is so big, it’s impossible. Let me remind you that your God is good at making the impossible possible. When you think you cannot, that’s when God wants to show up in His greatness, and cause His strength to work in place of your weakness, so all eyes can see His glory upon you.

You might be in here thinking you do not have what it takes. But get ready. The Lord is going to arise in His might and power and fight your battles, and heal your sickness, and supply all your needs, and make way for you where there is no way. Get ready for promotions, for breakthroughs, for victory. Get ready. Your great and mighty God has breathed His life into you. He wants you to be more than average, to go beyond ordinary, to stand out. He wants your life to be a praise unto Him.

God is so great He is your exceedingly great reward. There is no limit to what God is going to give you. There is no stopping Him from blessing you. But it takes seeing God as a great God to be greatly blessed. Because Abraham saw God as being great, He blessed Abraham so much Abraham died without using up all his blessing. If you will see God as great, you will live your life with so much joy, so much peace, so much confidence and victory. Genesis 15:1.

Now if you want to wait for the day of trouble before you see your God as great, welcome to the club. I did not know my dad could fight crazy until one day, as a boy, this tall and big guy beat me up in the park close to our house. He hit my head on the hard floor. How my dad got to that spot, I did not know. But he burst through the crowd, picked this guy high up and knocked him on the ground, so hard, the guy went to sleep for a while. Since that day, I got respect.

If you still doubt what I am telling you about how great my God is, ask Pharaoh. He messed with the Children of God. And Jehovah drowned him and his entire army in the Red Sea. If you still don’t get it, ask Nebuchadnezzar. God chose him to discipline His children. But he put them in chains and killed many. He was turned into an animal. If you really want to know how great my Father is, talk to King Herod. He got arrogant with God. He was eaten up by worms. Daniel 4:33; Acts 12:21-23.

I am trying to ask you to walk in the mentality of having a great God. And if you walk in that mentality, you will run into obstacles, but you will overcome it all. Enemies will come against you, but you will defeat them all. You will knock on doors, and they shall be opened unto you. The big dreams you have will come to pass. And your destiny will manifest in bright colors. Psalm 50:15.

But if you don’t remember anything of what I tell you today, at least, remember this, that your God is a great God. Believe it in your heart and confess it with your mouth. When you get up in the morning, or getting ready for bed, say it. “My God is great.” Say it again. “My God is great.”

When the enemy comes at you like a flood, say it. “My God is great.” When you go to court, or you got to pay the bills, say it. “My God is great.” When you have issue with your marriage, or you feel sick in your body, or your mind is troubled, say it. “My God is great.” When you have self-doubt, or you are ready to quit, what do you say? “My God is great.”

Hallelujah

LET'S PRAY:

Humble yourself before the Lord and pray:

In all your days
In all your ways
In all that concerns you
The Lord will show up
Great and mighty

His right hand will fight for you
His strong arm will keep you strong
His face will favor you
You will gain possession of the land
You don’t have to fight for

At the mention of His great name
You will push down your enemies
And trample those who rise up against you
He will defend and deliver you
And He will preserve you

In the great name of Jesus

Thank You, Father Lord

AMEN.

No one knows how great God is
And not praise Him very greatly.
Give the Lord a great praise
